TRULY A LABOR OF LOVE
Delivering the latest edition of Residents' Journal was exciting and satisfying
because, due to unexpected circumstances, the Journal had to take a longer than
desired hiatus. So now that it is back in circulation, it feels good to hand
over the long expected newspaper to eagerly waiting residents. Many of our loyal
readers had asked me many times, "When will the 'Journal' be out?" Well, today
we can say, "Here it is!"
The huge, far reaching routes covering our circulation destinations would have daunted some people. However, the smart, energetic workers, working together, viewed this job with pride, precision and ownership. Not only did they fulfill their charted destinations, they willingly sought new community connections that will not only increase our circulation but enlighten the public to the real side of life in public housing. It was also gratifying to deliver this edition to many of the city's high schools because of the Special Section produced by the Urban International Journalism Program, which is a part of Residents Journal's continuing educational response to the youth who live in public housing. HOO RAY! for setting a worthy example. Be sure you pick up a copy. There is something in it for everyone. You can find one where most community papers are available.
